POSITION: EC Instructional Coach 712 10 month position)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of EC and Student Support ServicesandSchool Principal
SALARY GRADE: State salary schedule commensurate with degree certification and experience
NATURE OF WORK: Responsible for planning coordinating and implementing a comprehensive schoolwide instructional program which facilitates learning; for modeling of best practices lessons which use effective learning strategies; for coaching teachers in all curriculum areas on how to enhance students acquisition of knowledge; for identifying professional development needs of the school and for providing professional development related to instructional design and delivery as part of the problem solving process; and for working with school and community groups such as the Leadership Team and Professional Learning Communities to help all students reach their highest potential.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Language Skills Ability to read analyze and interpret periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills Familiarity of basic computer operation and software. Ability to learn various computer operations required for management of student information and integration of technology in classroom instruction.
Other Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on the division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication. The candidate should have experiences that enable them to provide effective professional development for the teachers in their schools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files paper school supplies books etc.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee continuously interacts with the public and staff.
