The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Anchorage International Airport is looking for an Engineer/Architect 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!




What you will be doing:

As an Engineer/Architect 2 at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport you will assist in managing the Airports Capital Improvement Program for airport buildings oversee multiple projects and ensure quality budget and schedule compliance. Responsibilities include supervising staff supporting building permits engaging with officials and providing technical assistance for future improvements. Additional duties will support the airports operational goals.

This position is located at the Anchorage International Airport (ANC) on the third floor of the South Terminal.

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this position the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

  • Project Management: Knowledge of the principles methods or tools for developing scheduling coordinating
    and managing projects and resources including monitoring and inspecting
    costs work and contractor performance.
  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example ideas or facts) to
    individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of the
    information (for example technical sensitive controversial); makes clear and convincing
    oral and written presentations; listens to others attends to nonverbal cues and
    responds appropriately
Special Note:
  • Must be certified Professional Engineer or Architect in the State of Alaska.

  • Must have a current valid Alaska drivers license.

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska or the equivalent.

Special Note:
Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGE

Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations 49 CFR 1542 which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprintbased criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
