Position Summary
This nontenure renewablecontract Assistant Professor position will teach costume technology classes in construction patterning and/or related crafts mentor students through the production process and supervise Costume Studio work and employees (professional staff graduate and undergraduate students).

Detailed Position Information
This nontenure renewablecontract Assistant Professor position will teach costume technology classes in construction patterning and/or related crafts mentor students through the production process and supervise Costume Studio work and employees (professional staff graduate and undergraduate students). The Department of Theatre and Dance typically produces 1012 productions per academic year supported by the costume studio. All renewable contract assistant professors are expected to engage in service/academic citizenship appropriate to their area and expertise. Additionally they are expected to maintain a good level of performance in the classroom and/or other appropriate instructional settings and to contribute to the overall instructional effectiveness of the academic programs in which they have assigned duties. Teaching a minimum of two classes per semester while supervising the Costume Studio work 1:005:00 MF is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
Master of Fine Arts degree and evidence of advanced patternmaking and construction skills to include flat pattern draping costume construction tailoring dyeing theatre crafts and millinery. Record of successful teaching at the college and/or university level. Candidates should demonstrate a clear commitment to inclusive pedagogical approaches and a record of work using diverse and collaborative perspectives. Professional experience is highly desirable. Good communication and organizational skills are imperative as several productions may be in process at the same time.
