The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 469000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Cares nationally recognized Orthopedics service line offering comprehensive coordinated and accessible care across the outpatient inpatient and surgical venues. The North Liberty Campus is seeking passionate driven individuals to join our dynamic team as we open our new inpatient unit. This fastpaced acute care unit is designed to provide exceptional care to a diverse group of orthopedic patients. The team will care for individuals recovering from a wide range of orthopedic surgeries and procedures such as joint replacements fracture repairs spinal surgeries and more. With 36 large private patient rooms and cuttingedge facilities we are committed to offering the highest standard of care to our community helping patients recover and thrive.

A Staff Nurse will assess patients nursing care needs evaluate effectiveness of care provided and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice.

Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:

• Applies nursing theory to the assessment diagnosis treatment and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness
• Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations
• Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings
• Develops patient care plan based on patient condition age and psychological educational and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
• Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses
• Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response
• Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan
• Develops coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care
• Implements nursing interventions according to department division and/or unit policies procedures and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions

Percent of Time: 60
Schedule: Weekend Option Nights
Location:Medical Center North Liberty
Salary:$60000 minimum at 100 effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.*
SEIU Pay Plan: Differentials:Shift differentials for evening night and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differential up to $5000 per year based on percent time
