The REACH Nutrition Program Specialist will lead the nutrition strategies and activities for the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) grant. The primary focus of this position is to provide organizational leadership in nutrition and food insecurity policies; and to identify evidenceinformed strategies that support the implementation of culturally informed programs monitor and provide ongoing technical assistance and evaluation by working directly with a variety of community groups and internal staff and programs. The REACH program works to implement populationwide strategies to promote nutrition physical activity and communityclinical linkages in the Black/African American and African Immigrant/Refugee communities. As the REACH Nutrition Program Specialist this position will collaborate with internal and external partners to implement the nutrition strategy. This position also works to support Public Health Divisionwide strategies and REACH contracted partners to develop and implement policy environment and systemsbased change strategies to slow and reduce determinants of health disparities including but not limited to obesity and chronic diseases such as heart disease stroke cancer and diabetes. This position develops policy and programming recommendations for the REACH portfolio and collaborates to support increased access to nutrition and improve food access and security. This position will work in the Gateway Childrens Center and will work a hybrid schedule which may require onsite work in community settings.

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.. The onsite work location for this position is Gateway Children Center 10305 E Burnside St Portland OR 97216.

Serving the Public Even During Disasters:

Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
