Job Description

Your responsibilities

Join CERNs Electrical Engineering Group within the Engineering Department EN as an Electrical Engineer and play a key role in strengthening our quality management framework to ensure the success of Long Shutdown 3 (LS3. During LS3 more than 3000 km of cables and a large volume of electrical equipment 100 MCHF) will be installed and commissioned under a tight schedule. You will oversee and drive continuous improvement in quality processes collaborating closely with contractors and internal stakeholders to uphold CERNs highquality standards.

As an Electrical Engineer you will:

  • Identify and implement feedback from previous projects to improve LS3 preparations.
  • Oversee electrical installation contract compliance ensuring worksite quality verifying requirements and organizing onsite inspections.
  • Monitor and ensure EL Service Contractors Quality Plan readiness.
  • Assist in supplier quality audits before LS3 .
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for contractor performance in quality safety and compliance.
  • Support the nonconformity tracking system to ensure traceability and resolution of quality issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for LS3 coordination including methods processes and lessons learned.

Your profile

Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in quality management (e.g. ISO 9001 preferably in electrical engineering projects.
  • Understanding of worksite safety audits compliance and risk assessment.
  • Basic knowledge of quality processes testing and validation strategies.
  • Experience with nonconformity tracking and contractor performance monitoring is a plus.
  • Proficiency in document control systems and quality reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French.

Eligibility criteria:


Additional Information :

Job closing date: 01.05.2025 at 23:59 CEST.

Contract duration: 24 months with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Target start date: 01August2025

This position involves:

  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Operations on electrical installations or in their vicinity (over 1000 Volt AC or 1500 Volt DC) requiring a specific authorization.
  • Exposure to electromagnetic fields under certain exposure conditions.

Given the occupational health risks associated with this position the selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed.
