As a Vice President withinthe Diversified Industries Corporates Team you will be covering clients for the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will also cover a wide range of Leveraged (both Private Equityowned and Corporate) and Investment Grade clients in the Automotive Capital Goods Aerospace & Defence Business Services Airlines and Transportation sectors.
Job responsibilities
- Works as a team to negotiate and develop recommendations for new transaction approvals across a variety of products including secured and unsecured loans (general corporate purposes or event driven) derivatives trade and treasury products
- Leads due diligence and credit analysis to assess the credit worthiness of counterparties and make recommendations as to appropriate structure risk appetite and grading.
- Leads structuring and documentation negotiations (Investment Grade or Leveraged) derivatives and other facilities
- Commits to development personally and foster team knowledge. Coaching & training members of the Analyst and Associate community on both technical and professional skills.
- Manages ongoing credit risk portfolio including monitoring of credit ratings sector trends and client performance.
- Balances a commercial and solutiondriven mindset with a sound risks & controls attitude to the Firms balance sheet.
- Develops close working relationships at senior levels with a variety of stakeholders within the Commercial & Investment Bank including Coverage/Corporate Bank (mid and large caps) product specialists (DCM LF Trade TSS) Markets (Derivative Sales) Capital Markets and M&AUnderstands J.P. Morgans Risk management policies and related interactions with various stakeholders including Regulators and Auditors
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Sound credit skills and judgment with a proactive and flexible approach to coordinating and leading credit processes as well as identifying key risks and appropriate mitigants.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Be able to establish credibility and trust with internal business and risk stakeholders.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of transaction structures documentation and banking products sufficient to lead the of new deals and portfolio workstreams.
- Ability to be a selfstarter while being able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable environment.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Previous experience leading loan documentation negotiations/core corporate derivative documentation is recommended (IG non IG Sponsor type).
- Experience in Sponsor deal financings or expertise in relevant Industrial sectors is beneficial but not essential.
