The Nome Trial Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) seeks a dependable and detailoriented individual to become a Court Case Manager 2 (range 12. This position handles a variety of clerical and technical functions in support of court operations.

The Position

Minor Offense duties will include receiving a variety of court forms verifying completeness of filings and accepting fees as appropriate. The incumbent will set up case files enter computer data and issue process in the form of summons warrants and orders to show cause. Additional duties include calendaring Minor Offense hearings and jury trials as required review audit reports disburse funds and assisting other staff members as needed.

Incourt duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings receive and mark exhibits maintain witness lists calendaring necessary hearings and prepare and distribute court paperwork. The incumbent will be responsible for keeping accurate log notes and ensuring a clear recording of the hearing is produced. When trials occur this position is responsible for carrying out jury related responsibilities such as summonsing in jurors tracking juror attendance and processing jury excusal/deferral requests.

The Work Hours

Fulltime court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for these positions are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a onehour lunch break.

The Work Environment

The Nome Trial Court is located on 5th Avenue and provides easy access to stores or to enjoy a walk on your lunch break. When fully staffed the clerks office includes four staff fulltime staff and one parttime Court Case Managers 2 under the supervision of the Clerk of Court. As a Court Case Manager 2 you will become a part of the Nome Trial Court helping to fulfill the mission of the Alaska Court System.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a twoyear paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

A bachelors degree from an accredited college AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

WORK HISTORY
