Job Description:
JOB DUTIES
1. Supervises adult and/or juvenile probationers with the highest risk to reoffend by facilitating case staffing with probation staff to confirm proper classification assessing special needs and developing ongoing case plans to ensure all criminogenic factors are being addressed throughout the probationary period.
2. Performs counseling case management case reporting and related functions of managing a caseload under general supervision.
3. Supervises probationers/defendants through office visits to verify compliance with courtordered conditions; schedules office meetings; creates collateral contacts with treatment providers to monitor compliance.
4. Conduct various trainings for probation staff within the district e.g. motivational interviewing youth level of service suicide prevention and crisis management.
5. Performs risk assessments to determine proper supervision level of client; recommends incentives and/or sanctions based on assessment; monitors drug screens.
6. Monitors treatment process of clients and is engaged in the clients treatment through regular and ongoing communication with treatment providers and through attendance at treatment groups and facilities. Develops relapse prevention plans.
7. Acts as a subject matter expert within district; provides guidance to lower level staff regarding challenging or unique cases.
8. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in social services criminal justice or directly related field and 6 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class typically require:
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).

Utilizing probation and protective techniques;
Applying applicable laws rules and regulations;
Preparing activity reports and updating databases;
Operating computers and applicable software applications;
Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisors the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents may be subjected to environmental threats odors dusts inadequate lighting work space restrictions and travel.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Light Work.
