About the team
A highly scalable highly available realtime advertising platform is critical to support and grow Rokus ad business. It is the mission of the Ad Engineering Team to build this platform. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer Advertising Platform to be a vital part of this mission. If you bring extensive experience building complex systems love great technology at scale enjoy mentoring jumping in and figuring things out in any system this role is for you!

Building a realtime highly scalableavailable advertising platform is critical for our success. Our teams mission is to build a bestinclass advertising platform to support and grow Rokus exploding ad business. Our platforms are highly performant deployed at scale and set new standards for enabling effective advertising while protecting user privacy.
What youll be doing
- Work alongside a highly skilled engineering team to design develop and maintain largescale highly performing realtime applications
- Own building features driving directly with product and other engineering teams
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in working with technical and nontechnical audiences
- Be an evangelist for best practices across all functions developers QA and infrastructure/ops
- Be an evangelist for platform innovation and reuse
- Deliver topquality software in a timely fashion
Were excited if you have
- 10 years of experience building largescale and lowlatency distributed systems
- Command of Java or C
- Solid understanding of algorithms data structures performance optimization techniques objectoriented programming multithreading and realtime programming
- Experience with distributed caching SQL/NO SQL and other databases is a plus
- Experience with Big Data and cloud services such as AWS/GCP is a plus
- Experience in the advertising domain is a big plus
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
- Selfmotivated individual with a high level of accountability and ownership
- Critical thinking and practical decisionmaking
- Can do resultsoriented mindset
- Nonpolitical collaborative and teamoriented
- Desire to win in a highly competitive industry
