Maintenance Technician - Part Time

The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the maintenance operations for the Hotel i.e. refrigeration heating plumbing heating and cooling plant operations energy controls and efficiency etc. maintaining standards as required. You will be focused on optimizing each guests experience by living out our company purpose of hospitality from our family to yours.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Chief Engineer and Housekeeping team to inspect property daily identifying current and potential safety and/or maintenance needs
• Prioritize maintenance problems complaints and work orders using our digital work order platform
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance operations for the property including but not limited to refrigeration heating plumbing water treatment preventative maintenance Hotel front and back of house spaces A/C units ice machines lighting kitchen equipment emergency generators water softeners switch rooms roof exhausts electrical substations fire and life safety systems and other systems and equipment owned leased or managed by the hotel
• Maintain an ongoing maintenance program for guestrooms meeting rooms public space back of the house spaces kitchens and all hotel equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of grounds and attractiveness of landscaping
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of all work space and storage areas
• Ensure pool is properly maintained to include cleanliness and chemical content
• Maintain the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g. lawn care painting etc).
• Responsible for completing all required shift paperwork and reports accurately and completely in our digital work order platform.
• Greet each guest that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile.
• Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found articles.
• Coordinate with other departments as necessary to resolve service requests or problems.
• Ensure guest and associate safety by following established security procedures including emergency procedures key security and protecting guest and company confidential information.
• Follow all company and safety procedures; report accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with guests and staff
• Basic knowledge of plumbing electrical HVAC refrigeration carpentry painting dry walling carpeting repair safety operating systems.
• Must have basic computer and keyboard skills.
• This position is on their feet for the majority of their shift and requires a great deal of standing walking bending stretching pushing lifting pulling twisting using arms and hands and attention to detail.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include mornings days evenings weekends and holidays.
