Position Summary
The Communication Arts Department at California Baptist University seeks qualified individuals for its Journalism and New Media and Public Relations Program parttime adjunct pool. The specific courses involved will vary from semester to semester; openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Public Relations and Journalism and New Media. Applicants should be familiar with current journalistic and public relations guidelines and uptodate technologies for writing researching photojournalism reporting and layout and design. They should also be familiar with public relations concepts involving research planning implementation and evaluation in relation to PR campaigns.

Knowledge of principles methods and current developments in the field of study. Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught. Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques. Demonstrated ability to support instruct manage motivate and evaluate students. Skilled in the use of computers Internet resources and MS Office software. Ability to learn relevant sections of Blackboard California Baptist Universitys online integrated database system for student grading. Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process. Ability to successfully interact with students other educators and educational institution representatives and the general public in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies Masters degree in appropriate field or bachelors degree and significant professional experience required. Higher education teaching experience preferred.
