POSITION DUTIES

Are you looking for an opportunity to join an exciting team of professionals and make a contribution to a major modernization project for the taxpayers of Maryland Located in downtown Annapolis the Comptroller of Maryland Revenue Administration Division is seeking to fill an entry level IT Functional Analyst trainee position within our Project management office.

This position will with the guidance of lead workers and managers learn the coordination of system design learn testing and implementation for hardware and software application upgrades; learn to promote overall business processes optimization; learn to develop queries and analyzing data; and assisting with annual testing of the tax processing software.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a keen attention to detail eager to learn with knowledge of state and federal tax returns uses Microsoft software thrives in a fast paced environment proficiency in English; written and spoken in order to correspond with technical customers (programmers business partners and supervisors) has some experience in an IT environment and is an effective team collaborator in all aspects of daily work.

This position is a hybrid in office/teleworking position based on the needs of the office and completion of the probationary period. Overtime may be necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry word processing spreadsheet graphics database or other applications.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting Finance Business Administration Human Resources Management Public Administration Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems for the required experience.
  2. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in Accounting Finance Business Administration Human Resources Management Public Administration Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems for each year up to four years of the required experience.
  3. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and two years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry word processing spreadsheet graphics database or other applications for the required experience.
  4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.

** For education obtainedoutside of the U.S. you will be required to provide proof of the equivalentAmericaneducation as determined by a foreign credential evaluationservice. If you possess a degree obtained outsideof the United States pleasesubmit a detailed coursebycourse evaluation report from one of evaluating members identified at OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
