General Summary:
As CFO you will play a key role in shaping the financial future of Community Care Network/Rutland Mental Health Services guiding the organization through an exciting period of growth and transformation.
In this strategic leadership role you will oversee all financial operations including budgeting financial planning reporting and compliance with executive oversight of the Billing Facilities and Information Technology departments. You will bring a deep understanding of CCNs business cycles and services contribute to setting business strategy and provide insightful analysis to guide organizational decisionmaking. By fostering a collaborative culture and establishing strong controls you will ensure efficient fiscal practices that align with CCNs mission and deliver measurable results.
Your Role:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development and of the organizations Financial IT and Facilities strategies in alignment with shortterm and longterm business goals.
- Provide senior leadership with insights and advice identifying trends risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Guide decisionmaking around capital investment budgeting and overall financial planning.
Executivelevel Leadership & Team Development
- Build and manage highperforming teams ensuring staff development and fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and innovation.
- Promote professional development and continuing education for team members to keep up with evolving regulations and technologies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Oversee the development and management of the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and tracking of financial performance across all departments including revenue cycle and operational expenses.
- Implement processes for regular budget variance analysis and corrective actions.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of required reports to regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all federal state and local financial regulations including those specific to the healthcare industry (e.g. Medicare Medicaid CCBHC).
Revenue Cycle Management
- Lead efforts to optimize the revenue cycle ensuring efficient billing reimbursement processes and collections.
- Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce bad debt.
- Monitor payer contracts and reimbursement rates ensuring optimal financial performance and contract compliance.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through comprehensive risk management strategies.
- Ensure effective internal controls and policies are in place to safeguard the organizations financial assets.
- Manage financial audit process with external auditors.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
- Develop and implement financial policies and systems that improve operational efficiency and support the delivery of highquality care.
- Identify costsaving opportunities and areas for financial improvement across all operational areas.
- Oversee capital planning including facilities equipment and technology investments.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain open communication with the Boards of Directors external stakeholders and financial institutions ensuring they are informed of the organizations financial performance and strategic initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to the CEO and Boards on the financial status forecasts and key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and present financial reports to the Boards assisting in strategic decisionmaking.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting or a related field; MBA MHA or MPA preferred.
- At least 10 years of fiscal management experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role preferably in a healthcare finance environment
- Understanding of healthcare finance including reimbursement methodologies government healthcare programs (Medicare/Medicaid/CCBHC) and regulations.
- Proven ability to lead influence and drive change.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to nonfinancial audiences in verbal written and graphical form.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Must have a valid drivers license reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
Work Environment:
- The duties of this position are performed at a single location in a professional office setting.
- Travel outside of the office is required at times to perform work responsibilities and to attend meetings seminars or other miscellaneous workrelated obligations.
- While the agency places considerable emphasis on health and safety a riskfree environment cannot be guaranteed.
- May require occasional afterhours work.
