Systems Development Engineer - Identity Cryptography and Identity Management

We are currently looking for a Systems Development Engineer to join our systems organization. You love to work with internal and external customers to execute projects and resolve issues. AWS Cryptography and Identity are building and delivering the next generation of cloud computing security. We are innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed security systems involving identity management federation web services security and much more. We enable our customers to control some of the most sensitive secrets on the Internet.

In this role you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Cryptography and Identity systems. This is a great opportunity to have direct impact to some of the largestscaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry while having a huge impact. A successful systems development engineer joining the team will do much more than write code and triage problems. You will work with Amazons largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that after start the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

2 years of noninternship professional software development experience
1 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Bachelors degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking storage operating systems)
Current active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

Experience with PowerShell (preferred) Python Ruby or Java
Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C C# Java Python Golang PowerShell Ruby
7 years of administrative experience in networking storage systems operating systems and handson systems engineering experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
