- Performing physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Administering and performing diagnostic tests such as xrays and laboratory tests
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Detecting changes in patients health and modifying treatment plans as needed.
- Educating and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems treatment plans and home care
- Facilitating the patients transition within and between health care settings e.g. admitting transferring and discharging patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Planning and managing patient care according to the patients needs
- Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA OSHA etc.
- Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends
Nurse Practitioner Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Knowledge of computerbased data management programs and information systems as well as medical records and pointofinterview technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare workers and collaborate with team members
- Must be able to think critically evaluate various options to treat a condition and then identify the one he or she decides will have the best outcome.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a fastpaced yet friendly environment
- Must be well organized and detailoriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion concerning health service records and information
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:
- Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse licensure required
- Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program such as a Master of Science in nursing
- Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of practice
