The Shoreline Community College Chemistry department offers a rigorous sequence of courses for students interested in professional/technical degrees and for science and nonscience transfer majors. This includes a one quarter introductory chemistry for nonmajors twoquarter introductory general/organic/biochemistry (GOB) sequence threequarter general inorganic chemistry sequence threequarter organic chemistry sequence and a twoquarter biochemistry sequence. The instrumentation in our teaching labs include UVvis spectrophotometers FTIRs GCs GCMS Vernier Data Acquisition and a 60MHz NMR.
The successful faculty member should have the ability and experience to teach any of our chemistry courses/labs be familiar with the use of instrumentation in teaching labs and have some experience/desire in green chemistry. A portion of the teaching assignment may be in the evening and include hybrid or online modalities.

The College is currently in mixed (both inperson and online) operations with the option for some assignments to be completed in an online environment based on program or area needs. For remote (online) instruction faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For oncampus inperson instruction work is usually performed in a classroom/lab that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment.
