Title: Instructor (Geography & Environmental Science)

Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately August 2025 pending position clearance and availability of funding. This appointment is annually renewable subject to position clearance availability of funds and satisfactory performance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach courses in Geography and Environmental Science 12 credits per semester)
  2. Engage in scholarly activities and/or endeavors that contribute to the mission of the University
  3. Participate in department academic university and community service


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Masters Degree in Geography Environmental Studies Environmental Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  2. Experience teaching or description of ability to teach Introduction to Environmental Science
  3. Experience teaching or description of ability to teach courses related to environmental impact assessment environmental hazards and natural resource management.


Desirable Qualifications

  1. PhD in Geography Environmental Studies Environmental Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  2. Experience teaching or description of ability to teach introductory geography courses such as World Regional Geography
  3. Evidence of scholarly productivity in geography conservation or environmental science
  4. Experience and/or interest in teaching fieldbased courses with an interest in developing a Hawaii placebased curriculum
  5. Experience in teaching diverse student populations
