The Regional Manager Financial Aid oversees operations of an assigned region of the Financial Aid Office.
Collaborates with the Executive Director and the Team of Regional Managers to develop systemwide policies and procedures consistent messaging and documents and brochures utilized by financial aid offices systemwide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist the Executive Director to implement oversee and manage financial aid programs processes and customer service for assigned region of the Financial Aid Office.
Oversee the Regional Financial Aid Office operation as needed; including complex problem resolution responding to administrators requests for information staff supervision and assigning/scheduling work assignments.
Perform all duties inherent in supervision; including but not limited to recommending/approving all personnel actions hiring transfers terminations and disciplinary actions.
Develop and implement annual plans prepare formal reports for external regulatory organizations; determine departmental policy; and recommend and monitor budget.
Collaborate with the Team of Regional Managers to develop implement update and monitor a systemwide training program for all Financial Aid staff members at each campus financial aid office.
Collaborate with the Team of Regional Managers to develop implement update monitor and track a systemwide customer service plan for campus financial aid staff and report results.
Work with the Executive Director to adequately staff the campus financial aid offices with qualified staff members who demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
Collaborate with the Executive Director of Financial Aid and the Team of Regional Managers to develop implement and monitor a timely and measurable customer feedback system.
Collaborate with the Executive Director of Financial Aid regarding the office operating budget including recommending budget needs monitoring evaluating and seeking cost saving measures.
Attend all mandatory trainings meetings and requesting additional assistance when needed.
Trainings may include but are not limited to traveling to various HCC locations including the District Office for extended lengths of time.
Identify needs research and recommend innovations and leverage technology to ensure the operation is running efficiently and delivering excellent customer service increased customer satisfaction and student success.
Collaborate with the Team of Regional Managers to maximize human resources and ensure students have access to financial aid services during open hours of operation.
Work closely with all student services offices managers and administrators to provide excellent communication and collaboration among offices which service the needs of students.
Collaborate with district processing manager to coordinate training and strong communications between the district processors and the campus financial aid advisors.
Comply with FERPA regulations and ensure all FERPA regulations are met by the staff at the campus financial aid offices.
Work with the district compliance manager to ensure all activities conducted at the campus financial aid office are fully compliant with regulations and college policies.
Work with other student services departments to assist students with unusual situations and resolve issues to enable the student to be academically successful.
Monitor and evaluate employee performance and address concerns or deficiencies regarding services provided to students.
Ensure all financial aid staff members within the assigned region have the knowledge training and tools needed to provide a high level of customer service to students.
Develop community outreach services and schedule staff to cover community events which provide direction to students and families on the financial aid application process.
Collaborate with the Team of Regional Managers and the public relations office to develop marketing materials and information pamphlets.
Attend plan meetings trainings conferences community events and serve on various committees and advisory groups as needed.
Meet with parents and students to provide assistance with the financial aid application process and answer financial aid questions.
Provide coverage and leadership at various HCC financial aid office locations as needed.
May be required to work irregular hours including nights and weekends as required.
Attend and present Financial Aid information at HCC college events high school workshops and other external community events and assist students parents and community members with the financial aid process.
This includes evening and weekend events.
Perform other duties tasks and assignments as required and assigned.

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner.
