Job Title: Project Officer
Reporting to: Project Manager Protection
Contract Type: Fulltime 37.5 hours per week)
Contract Duration: Until 31 March 2026 (with possibility of extension subject to funding)
Salary: Net up to $1735 per month

Part 1: Role Purpose

Street Child is seeking a dedicated individual to support the humanitarian response in Ukraine due to the ongoing war. This is an opportunity to join a wellestablished international organisation and contribute to its growing team. We are looking for a proactive candidate with a cando attitude who is willing to support wherever needed. The role is demanding and suited to individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment providing an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in an international development NGO.

The Project Officer will focus on education and child protection interventions in a humanitarian context. They will oversee the daytoday implementation of the EducationinEmergencies programme under the supervision of Project Managers ensuring timely and highquality project delivery. The role requires close collaboration with local implementing partners and Street Childs project and operations teams. The Project Officer will support activities in Donetsk Sumy Dnipropetrovsk Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts ensuring that services such as childfriendly spaces mobile teams and teacher training meet the highest standards.

Street Child prioritises working with and through Ukrainian organisations. The successful candidate should be prepared to support and strengthen local partners ability to serve their communities effectively.

This role is part of a project funded by the Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund (project number 34832.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities

1 Project Delivery and Management 60

  • Develop and coordinate project activities in collaboration with the Project Manager and local stakeholders.
  • Ensure the project aligns with Street Childs procedures donor requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor daytoday activities ensuring best practices in training for teachers psychosocial support for children and case management for atrisk children.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in project implementation and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
  • Collect and analyse project data for reporting and review purposes.

2 Partnerships 30

  • Work closely with local partners to ensure timely and highquality project implementation.
  • Provide technical support to partners throughout all project stages.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials in accordance with SOPs.
  • Facilitate information sharing among project stakeholders.

3 Representation 10

  • Serve as a liaison between Street Child local partners other agencies local government and cluster partners.
  • Represent Street Child at stakeholder meetings including cluster and working group meetings.
  • Support Project Managers in presenting project deliverables to donors and humanitarian stakeholders.

4 Additional Responsibilities

  • Fulfill other reasonable duties as required.
  • Commit to Street Childs vision mission and values.
  • Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
  • Be willing to travel to project implementation sites.

Part 3: Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Strong commitment to humanitarian work and motivation to address social challenges.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the nongovernmental sector.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in education and child protection sectors in Ukraine.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Cando attitude with strong organisational skills.
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Education Social Work Social Sciences or a related field.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience managing childfriendly spaces and mobile teams.
  • Experience organising training sessions and workshops.
  • Strong analytical and reportwriting skills.
  • Knowledge of the project cycle.
