Overview
The Awake Overnight Youth Stabilization Specialist plays a critical role in supporting youth to achieve and maintain stability as they prepare for a successful transition into a homelike environment. TheYouth Stabilization Specialistbuilds relationships quickly and partners with each youth to develop and implement highly individualized treatment Stabilization Specialistsuse behavioral interventions and supports and engage youth in a variety of daily activities while focusing on mental health treatment Stabilization Specialistsalso provide crisis support and deescalation techniques when youth demonstrate selfharm and aggressive behaviors.
About Monterey County Crisis Programs
The Senecas Monterey Crisis Programs provide crisis stabilization services and shortterm residential treatment for children and youth experiencing crises ensuring timely support when its most needed. This innovative way of addressing a mental health emergency provides a safe supportive and welcoming environment for children and youth. Upon enrollment in the programs the Seneca teams work with the youth and support networks to assess the needs and strengths of the youth in order to develop the foundation goals that will drive treatment. Comprehensive services include timely mental health assessments crisis counseling and linkage to longterm sustainable support based on each clients unique strengths and needs. The ultimate goal is to provide mental health/crisis services suicide prevention decrease in placement changes and reduction of unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization.

Responsibilities
- Provide supervision of youth and work with them towards maintaining a consistent structured and predictable routine in a home environment.
- Participate in client treatment planning processes including:
- Program meetings
- Child and family team (CFT) meetings
- Educationrelated services meetings
- Implement interventions outlined in client treatment plan supporting their social and emotional mental health wellness goals.
- Complete clientrelated documentation including county health plan progress notes and incident reporting procedures.
- Provide client crisis intervention and deescalation support.
- Coordinate and assist with making transportationarrangements for school medical social activities therapy appointments and court hearings.
- Provide crisis oncall support as needed.
- Participate in program staff meetings and additional meetingswhen necessary.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree OR
- Associate degree or equivalent 1 year of applicable work experience OR
- High school diploma/GED 2 years of applicable work experience
- Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families working in the social services field providing intensive crisis support to youth and families short term residential care or acutepsychiatric setting
- At least one year experience in an acute psychiatric setting acute residential placement such as ShortTerm Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) or providing intensivecrisis support to youth.
- Capacity to engage and develop rapport with youth families and community partners from a wide variety of racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Experience deescalating crisis behaviors with youth who have experience significant trauma in a highly structured environment utilizing behavioral and relationshipbased interventions.
- Critical thinking to meet client needs and cooperative problem solving to achieve a common team goal.
- Proficiency in navigating various computer software systems including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to receive and provide constructive feedback.
- At least 21 years of age.
- TB test clearance fingerprinting clearance and any other state/federal licensingor certification requirements.
- Valid drivers license clean driving record and insurability throughSeneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.
- Proof of uptodate COVID19 vaccination.
Schedule
- Fulltime; Overnight shift
- Three 12.5hr shifts per week plus one on call day
Benefits
- Starting at $27.00 $29.50per hour
- Actual salary dependent of creditable experience above the minimum qualificationsfor the role
