Job Description

Company: SENT & Fellowship HiCrest
Position: Administrative Specialist
Job Classification: Nonexempt Fulltime
Hours: 40 Hours per week: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm occasionally on Sunday mornings
Pay Range: $18 to $20 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Onsite HiCrest area

The Mission of the Administrative Assistant is to facilitate spiritual growth in our community through the power of Jesus Christ by providing smooth easily accessible materials details data and information.

A day in the life of an Administrative Assistant:

  • Receive and direct telephone calls for the church and assist with SENT Topeka phones
  • Maintain the Lead Pastors appointment calendar
  • Assist with meeting preparation
  • Maintain the Lead Pastors calendar and files
  • Work with the bookkeeper and accountant to track and reconcile expenses for Fellowship HiCrest
  • Perform administrative duties for the Lead Pastor such as reviewing correspondence and making travel arrangements
  • Lead the Administrative volunteers for both organizations.
  • Available to purchase items or run errands for the Lead Pastor
  • Manage Planning Center assignments like creating and editing forms and workflows
  • Assist and update members profile information as needed
  • Manage event registrations and calendar management
  • Assist ministry teams with locating resources and questions & answers
  • Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a team environment to accomplish the tasks necessary to serve and support FHC & SENT.
  • Flexible to accept additional assignments as requested by management
  • Attend FHC staff and leadership team meetings when scheduled

Administrative Assistant Attributes and Skills:

  • Ability to exercise creativity and sound judgment without close supervision
  • Ability to multitask in an environment of frequent interruptions
  • Proficiency with the English language: reading writing and speaking
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and customer service skills in person and on the telephone with a diverse population with individuals and with groups
  • Ability to prioritize and manage your work to effectively and efficiently accomplish tasks with excellence
  • Relational approachable and at ease with listening to and engaging with people
  • A team player works well with others to reach a common goal
  • A selfmotivator who takes the initiative to communicate problems and look for solutions
  • Sound judgment and decisionmaking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Administrative Assistant Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience as a lead administrative assistant preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suites (docs sheets calendar etc.
  • Experience managing a peoplebased database; specifically Planning Center would be preferred
  • Maintain and organize files in different accounts like Evernote Dropbox and Google Drive
