The Role: The Morningstar Retirement team is looking for a knowledgeable enthusiastic creative and purposeful candidate to join it is Project Management team as an Associate Project Manager. This is a role in our Mumbai Retirement team. As an Associate Project Manager you will partner with Program and Project Managers to manage critical projects working in a highly collaborative environment with product management technology and operations (including our corporate functions such as Finance IT Talent & Culture) globally to ensure successful delivery.
You will be well versed with Agile methodologies and various Scrum ceremonies like Sprint planning daily stand ups and Sprint reviews. You must have some experience collaborating with globally distributed teams on projects of varying sizes and complexity and understands the fundamental concepts of project management in a traditional or agile environment.
Responsibilities:
Work as an assistant to Conceptualize define and manage technology projects from endtoend working closely with the development and business teams.
This position involves collaborating closely with the Project Managers/Program Managers to ensure project goals are met resources are optimized and potential issues are addressed promptly.
Understand key elements of project management and organize small scale projects by preparing project management plans including project objectives/business case deliverables key steps/ milestones success factors project schedules and communication plans.
Work as a Scrum Master for selforganizing and crossfunctional scrum teams.
Lead Agile ceremonies for projects driving effective sprint planning daily standups and sprint reviews to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
Empower the team by mentoring on best practices in Agile and project management while also fostering a learning and collaborative culture within the team.
Utilize project management tools such as JIRA and Asana to track project progress manage tasks and facilitate communication among project stakeholders.
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to ensure transparency and alignment on project goals progress and outcomes.
Coordinate project administrative structure such as meeting cadence agenda preparation meeting minutes documentation and assignment of project risks action items issues and decisions (RAID log).
Monitor project/program success metrics.
Serve as an active member of the PMO team helping to define processes process improvements standards and metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business administration Information Technology Computer Science or a related field with 5 years of professional experience.
Minimum of 2 years of project management experience ideally in BFSI domain.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in working with the Agile teams.
Strong organizational communication time management problem solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of traditional and agile projectmanagement frameworks.
Proactive planning and organizing skills for uncertainties with positive attitude.
Ability to influence decisionmaking processes and foster an environment of healthy team debate.
Possess strong active listening skills.
PMP CSM or equivalent is a plus.
Experience with Jira and Asana is a plus.
This is a hybrid position currently requiring three days in our Mumbai office.
