Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time bilingual (Spanish/English) Program Manager to work with the Principal Investigators and research team to manage the Latino Health Collective. The manager functions as a critical member of the team with two primary responsibilities within the CRISOL Mente project: 1) the coordination and management of the Latino Health Collective; and 2) supporting data collection activities. Based on this persons experience being a member of and working for and with the Latino community this individual will also provide ongoing input to the study directors to make sure the study practices are consistent with and advance principles of social justice and equity.

CRISOL Mente is a 5-year project that will develop implement and test a multi-level community intervention to improve mental health outcomes and promote access to culturally appropriate mental health treatment for Latino communities in Philadelphia. CRISOL Mente will include components at various levels of the socio-ecological model: a clinic-based stepped-care program relying on Latino lay health workers (LHW) for the delivery of mental health services (Aim 1) outreach and education activities to reduce mental health stigma in the community (Aim 2) and efforts to strengthen Latino-serving organizations capacity to address mental health and other syndemic conditions contributing to untreated mental health among Latinos (Aim 3). The Latino Health Collective is the key component of Aim 3 of the CRISOL Mente project.
As a fully bilingual person this individual will also help ensure that all study materials are properly translated to Spanish and adhere to the best practices for inclusive language.

Essential Functions

Project Management for LHC

  • Coordinating the monthly town halls: scheduling preparing agendas preparing and distributing minutes.
  • Maintaining communication with Latino Health Collective partners (weekly newsletter emails calendar invites)
  • Coordination of annual retreats
  • Coordination of training events for Latino Health Collective partners (e.g. workshops)
  • Serves as liaison between the principal investigators and community resources and organizations. Represent the Principal Investigators as needed to university and external audiences including community events meetings with stakeholders and conferences

Data Collection

  • Assists with the collection of self-reported data from CRISOL Mente Aim 1 study participants (baseline survey 3-month touch point and 6- month follow up survey).
  • Under the supervision of Drs. Martinez-Donate and Lazo this person may also conduct some qualitative interviews with personnel involved in the administration/delivery of CRISOL Mente in the participating clinics and the subsample of patients enrolled in CRISOL Mente on each of the intervention phases.
  • Assists with implementation of the planned surveys with community members and representatives from Latino-serving organizations and will complete some of the key informant interviews with Latino-serving providers.

LHC-Data Analytics

  • Assist the Principal Investigators in tracking activities and impact of the LHC completing descriptive analysis and producing brief reports tables and charts to describe the reach and impact of the collective.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Public Health or related fields orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in community organizations settings
  • Experience advocating for community members of different backgrounds in different settings.
  • Experience assisting immigrants from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g asylum seekers victims of violence).
  • Experience facilitating communication within interdisciplinary teams
  • Possess excellent oral written organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Team oriented
  • Can work independently and has demonstrated complex problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to be flexible to the evolving needs of the grant funded research projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and data analytic tools

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from$ 54630. to $81940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for thisposition typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade but it can vary based on thesuccessful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
