Job Overview
Net Power is looking for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in integrating our novel powergeneration process with industrystandard electrical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plant wide electrical system oneline design highpower highvoltage motors VFDs transformers generators and electrical control systems and modeling. This individual will also have experience in supporting interconnect studies developing and refining governor control models in collaboration with internal and external parties. They will work closely with our partners and contractors utilizing a system engineering approach to ensure Net Powers overall product requirements are met at each electrical interface and drive Net Powers ongoing innovation to deploy flexible clean baseload power generation.
This role will split time between the Houston office and field test sites in La Porte and West Texas at Net Powers first commercialscale project Project Permian. The role will require La Porte availability thru 2026. West Texas support will be required starting in 2026 coinciding with commissioning of Net Powers Project Permian.
Lead Electrical Design
- Lead the design and integration of Net Powers process equipment and Standard Plant design package with fitforpurpose electrical systems that ensure a flexible clean baseload power generation platform.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics for plant electrical systems including oneline power distribution motor control centers switchgear transformers and generator in line with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to specify procure and commission highpower and highvoltage equipment such as motors wiring and transformers at Net Powers projects and its demonstration facility.
- Participate in HAZOP and design reviews to identify and mitigate electrical hazards risks and vulnerabilities.
Manage Electrical System Commissioning and Operational Support
- Be onsite to support plant commissioning and startup activities troubleshooting plant wide mediumvoltage electrical issues and optimizing system performance.
- Lead Failure Reporting and Corrective Action process including Root Cause Analysis for plant electrical failures.
- Develop validation criteria for Net Powers electrical systems to guide work and data analysis at the La Porte demonstration facility Project Permian and Net Powers standard plants.
Provide Project Support
- Design and implement electrical power and control systems for process automation and safety utilizing industrystandard protocols and technologies.
- Conduct modeling and simulation of electrical systems using software tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools to analyze system performance reliability and safety.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering principles practices and standards to support project development and .
- Review requirements and support interconnect studies to assess the impact of connecting Net Power facilities to the grid including evaluating grid stability power quality reliability and governor model development and refinement.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and thirdparty consultants to ensure compliance with electrical codes standards and regulations.
- Foster a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement within the project team promoting best practices lessons learned and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering. Masters degree or equivalent experience is preferred. (Degree from an ABET accredited university)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on plant electrical systems design maintenance and troubleshooting highpower and highvoltage equipment and control systems. Field experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in oneline design and electrical schematics using CAD software.
- Extensive knowledge of highpower motors VFDs transformers generators and electrical control systems including design specification and integration.
- Familiarity with electrical testing such as voltage and power quality testing.
- Experience with modeling and simulation software tools such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools for electrical system analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing electrical design installation and operation such as NEC NEMA NERC IEEE ATEX CE CSA and ANSI.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and identify practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering electrical engineering projects on time and within budget.

Candidates must be able to perform essential functions as outlined above including but not limited to:
- Travel to testing and operating facilities as needed.
- During testing may require night work weekends or long hours
- Work effectively in an office environment.
- Operate at a computer and sit for long periods of time.
- Repeat motions that may include the wrists hands or fingers.
- Position is sedentary with occasional light lifting.
