Kiknu meaning our home in Mikmaq is Nova Scotias first long term care home on a First Nation community. A residentsfirst approach to care and service will ensure Kiknu is supporting independence promoting dignity and placing value on the choices for how elders want to live their lives.

Shannex acts as the operating partner alongside the First Nations community of Eskasoni in the operation of this new home. Together we will ensure the community delivers exceptional service and care while honouring Mikmaw culture values and traditions.

About the Opportunity

As a member of our Shannex Clinical Practice support team you will provide 1:1 clinical support for newly licensed nurses ensuring they thrive in their roles. This contract position offers flexibility and variety in your career with the opportunity to contribute your skills while enjoying a healthy worklife balance.

As a dedicated and experienced nurse you value continuous improvement collaboration and accountability. You are eager to share your expertise and contribute to the success of our clinical team.

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:

  • A Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurseand are currently registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) with a minimum of 10 years of Canadian nursing experience
  • Proficiency in English (Ability to speak Mikmaq is an asset)
  • Ability to provide a CPR & Emergency First Aid Certificate Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and a commitment to ensuring seniors have access to highquality accommodations services and care
  • This position is ideal for nurses or retired nurses looking to reenter the workforce.
