Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthen to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 12.84 15.48 per Hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Grounds Operative to carry out a variety of grounds maintenance tasks across public parks schools playing fields and open spaces. The role requires practical skills in landscape maintenance machinery handling and safe working practices with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out grounds maintenance including grass cutting hedge trimming and sports pitch upkeep.
- Set out and mark sports areas; maintain artificial synthetic and natural pitches.
- Clean public amenities such as changing rooms toilets and parks.
- Apply pesticides safely in line with current legislation and guidelines.
- Operate hand tools powered vibrating equipment tractors and mounted machinery.
- Perform visual inspections of playground equipment and keep accurate records.
- Ensure work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and safe systems of work.
Essentials:
- Training in the use of grounds maintenance machinery
- Ability to work independently and meet scheduled tasks without supervision.
- Valid driving licence and ability to tow trailers
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation COSHH regulations and safe work practices.
- Experience in gardening landscaping or similar groundskeeping duties.
