Job Description
Are you an experienced Software Engineer ready to make an impact in the world of finance technology Were looking for a talented engineer to join and us design develop and support cuttingedge software used by some of the UKs most recognisable bluechip and householdname clients.
Based in Sheffield youll join a collaborative distributed development team in the UK and India.
Youll contribute to full lifecycle development from interpreting highlevel and detailed specifications to delivering robust scalable solutions. Youll also have the opportunity to get handson with clientfacing support and occasional UK travel with some outofhours support when required.
Qualifications :
What are we looking for
- A degree in a technology or computer science discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience in software development
- Strong experience with any 3GL or 4GL programming language (experience with Uniface is a big plus full training will be provided)
- Confidence working in a small team environment and engaging with customers regularly
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to try new approaches and suggest improvements
- Flexibility in working hours
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good selfmanagement skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
- A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
It would be a bonus if you had:
- Previous experience working on financial services software
- Familiarity with JIRA although full training is available
- Experience working with Oracle or MS/SQL databases
