Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Project Coordinator with a minimum of three years of experience conducting CRM work in the Southwest. The Project Coordinator plays a critical role in streamlining project and ensuring operational efficiency. This position provides essential support to Project Managers and field teams contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time within scope and within budget. The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating project activities maintaining project documentation tracking progress and facilitating communication among project stakeholders. This is a billable designed as part of the Project Management career path. Project Coordinators gain handson experience with key project management fundamentals including scheduling resource allocation risk management and budget tracking. Through direct involvement in project operations the Project Coordinator develops the skills knowledge and leadership capabilities necessary to assume full project management responsibilities in the future. Key Responsibilities: - In coordination with the Project Manager and Field Director staffs projects and plans the mobilization and accommodation of field teams for project work.
- Manages travel costs for the teams.
- Ensures teams arrive with the necessary equipment to complete their projects.
- Arranges any permits or rightsofentry for project work.
- Monitors labor and expense allocation toward the project and tracks progress against budget
- Formally tracks project health metrics to ensure early escalation and resolution of issues that could jeopardize budget scope or timeliness in partnership with the assigned project manager and office/regional leadership.
- Assists in change order management process: identifying needs for change orders if they arise preparation of change order submissions according to the established process.
- Familiarity with the contract provisions to ensure deliverables and processes comply.
Stakeholder Collaboration: - Collaborates with offices across the company to identify and mobilize available field personnel.
- Coordinates with finance and administration teams to support onboarding of new employees and manage project expenses.
Continuous Improvement: - Collects feedback on project and escalates risks to project manager and office/regional leadership
- Participates in postmortem analysis of projects that go overbudget or schedule.
- Keeps current with field methods in region of interest.
- Facilitates formal documentation of lessons learned for implementation in future projects
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Anthropology Archaeology or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting archaeological fieldwork.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects at once. Preferred Qualifications: - Masters Degree in Anthropology Archaeology or related field.
- 5 years of experience conducting archaeological fieldwork including two years of leading field projects as a crew chief/field director.
Working Conditions: - This is a remote officebased role with the potential for occasional travel to job sites within the Southwest.
