Job Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the insurance operations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks effectively.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate risk management processes into daily operations.
Compliance Oversight:
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the insurance industry in Belgium and ensure the companys compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to business units in implementing compliance measures.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Communicate and train employees on compliance policies and procedures fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Advisory Services:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on risk and compliance matters providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior management to address complex risk and compliance issues and propose effective solutions.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of risk and compliance activities to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of risk and compliance activities ensuring transparency and accountability.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Risk Management Compliance Business etc.; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g. CISA CISM CRISC) preferred.
- Proven experience in risk management and compliance within the insurance industry with a focus on the Belgian market.
- Indepth knowledge of Belgian insurance regulations and relevant European directives.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
- Fluent in English and French or Dutch
- Experience in policy development and implementation.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in risk and compliance.
