Job Responsibilities:

1. Risk Assessment and Management:
   

   • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the insurance operations.
     
   • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks effectively.
     
   • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate risk management processes into daily operations.
     

2. Compliance Oversight:
   

   • Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the insurance industry in Belgium and ensure the companys compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
     
   • Provide guidance and support to business units in implementing compliance measures.
     
   • Conduct periodic compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
     

3. Policy Development and Implementation:
   

   • Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
     
   • Communicate and train employees on compliance policies and procedures fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
     

4. Advisory Services:
   

   • Serve as a subject matter expert on risk and compliance matters providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
     
   • Collaborate with senior management to address complex risk and compliance issues and propose effective solutions.
     

5. Reporting and Documentation:
   

   • Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of risk and compliance activities to senior management and regulatory authorities.
     
   • Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of risk and compliance activities ensuring transparency and accountability.
     

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Risk Management Compliance Business etc.; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g. CISA CISM CRISC) preferred.
  
• Proven experience in risk management and compliance within the insurance industry with a focus on the Belgian market.
  
• Indepth knowledge of Belgian insurance regulations and relevant European directives.
  
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
  
• Fluent in English and French or Dutch
  
• Experience in policy development and implementation.
  
• Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in risk and compliance.
