Job Description

MissionNashoba Brooks School educates children for a life of continuous learning accomplishment and leadership in a diverse and changing world. The School nurtures students growth and character while fostering the development of each childs personal excellence in academics athletics and the arts.Summary Nashoba Brooks School seeks candidates for the parttime 12month position of development assistant. Successful candidates will be eager to learn and grow in a fastpaced missiondriven and studentcentered environment that values continuous improvement. The development assistant is responsible for coordinating initiatives to support outstanding communications and positive constituent engagement while providing general administrative support to the development team. The development assistant will build strong ties among constituents and the School community. The development assistant works collaboratively with the advancement team to successfully achieve advancement goals.ResponsibilitiesConstituent Engagement Serve as point person for development events including PA events Grandparents and Special Friends Day Legacy Breakfast and alumni events on campus. Serve as liaison to the Parents Association (PA). Attend all PA events. Meet regularly with the PA officers and committee chairs. Oversee parent volunteer engagement including room parents. Oversee PA communication platforms. Serve as point person for PA nominations elections and onboarding. Maintain historical documentation of PA activities and operations for the Schools archives. Plan organize and implement volunteer recruiting training and orientation in coordination with colleagues.Communications Utilize the database to manage data and communicate needs related to daytoday management of donor relations. Coordinate gift acknowledgment letters and pledge reminders. Work closely with advancement team members to develop and manage communications regarding the Nashoba Brooks Fund and capital initiatives. Coordinate communications and project plans to ensure timely and impactful communications with all stakeholders. Compile confirm and edit alumni notes for annual Bulletin.Office & Team Support Work collaboratively with the advancement team to foster a missiondriven culture of resultsoriented creative problemsolving innovative thinking datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvement. Assist in the management and tracking of all Nashoba Brooks Fund gift prospects. Ensure that development initiatives are coordinated with all other advancement programs and plans. Support annual prospect research.Goal Setting & Accountability Work closely with the head of school and the development team to formulate annual cascading goals linked to the Schools strategic priorities. Support the development team in Identifying metrics actions and benchmarks to achieve annual goals. Track and monitor progress toward annual goals; support team in identifying and implementing midcourse corrections as needed. Meet annual benchmarks goals and deliverables. Perform other duties as may be reasonably required; execute these duties with the understanding that some evening and weekend work is required.Skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems creatively manage confidential information and navigate sensitive situations with skill and care. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all stakeholder groups including employees students alumnae/i parents and friends of the School. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks both independently and as a member of a collaborative team. Demonstrated effective time management and project management skills. Highly developed computer skills including working knowledge of Google Apps and presentation software; prior knowledge of Bloomerang preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.Qualifications Bachelors degree required. At least one to three years of professional experience in advancement constituent engagement or related field. The person who will be successful in this role will be a collaborative team member and a creative problem solver who enjoys building connections event planning and project management.
