Job Description
Position Name: PostgreSQL Administrator
Job Description
maintain and optimize PostgreSQL database environments for the Emerson Black Box project.
The ideal candidate will have handson experience with database administration including
configuration backup and recovery and performance tuning. Prior experience in Azure ADO
environments and manufacturing domains would be an advantage. The PostgreSQL
Administrator will work in collaboration with a crossfunctional team to ensure the
seamless operation of the database systems in a highly dynamic and fastpaced environment.
Years of experience : 5 Years
Roles and Responsiblities :
Install configure and maintain PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
Administer PostgreSQL databases ensuring high availability performance and reliability.
Implement security best practices including user roles permissions and encryption to
protect sensitive data.
Perform regular upgrades patches and version upgrades of PostgreSQL instances to ensure
they are uptodate and secure.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries and server configurations.
Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies.
Manage user access and database security controls.

Work with the development team to provide guidance on query optimization and database
design.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including performance bottlenecks and system
outages.
Stay uptodate with the latest PostgreSQL releases features and best practices.
Collaborate with the team on improving automation and database management processes
Ensure database systems are compliant with internal and external standards.
Qualification & skills :
5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration including installation
configuration performance tuning and high availability setups.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL installation configuration patching and upgrades.
Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization.
Handson experience with database replication backups and recovery techniques.
Expertise in Azure ADO environments and related tools.
Familiarity with cloudbased PostgreSQL deployments and monitoring tools.
Strong knowledge of database security access control and auditing.
Experience in the manufacturing domain is a plus.
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a cross
functional team environment.
