Job Description

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Keeping runs and cages clean throughout the shift
- Feeding pets according to owner instructions
- Keeping water bowls full
- Appropriately medicating pets
- Following laundry procedures
- Keeping facility floors and yards clean
- Supervising dogs properly when outside
- Ensuring proper pet identification is in place
- Documenting care appropriately
- Following safety procedures
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work with or around sick animals potentially hazardous materials cleaning chemicals gas anesthetics and unpleasant odors.
- Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
- Ability to provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift walk bend twist reach push and squat most of the workday
Experience:
- Animal Care: 1 year (Preferred)
