Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing staffing and training initiatives to develop and maintain a supportive and skilled nursing workforce. This role will also focus on driving quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. The Assistant Director of Nursing will collaborate with leaders employees educational facilities and other community agencies to ensure the highest standards of care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Hire train supervise and evaluate nursing staff including RNs LPNs and MAs.
- Oversee nursing care and provide direct patient care when needed.
- Serve as acting Director of Nursing (DON) in their absence.
- Support ongoing staff development through training education and competency checks.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards facility policies and state/federal regulations.
- Develop communicate and enforce nursing policies and procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively with patients families and healthcare teams.
- Use research and technology to enhance patient care and team performance.
- Demonstrate strong leadership organizational and time management skills.
- Be willing to travel to and work at other clinic locations if needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the DON.
- ADN/ASN or BSN from an accredited college or university required
- Currently licensed/registered in the state of Kansas required
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in family medicine is preferred
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred
- BLS certification is required and may be obtained within 90 days of employment
- Electronic Medical Record superuser a plus
- Project management certification a plus
