Salary Range:$55755.00$69136.00/annum

ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises a 24 hour/7 day a week security department by coordinating directing and monitoring work schedules activities and assignments of Security staff.
  • Responsible for assigning employees: daily assignments reports files communication requirements and schedules. Approves employee leave requests counsels employees on performance discipline and conduct issues.
  • Prepares maintains and analyzes files and reports regarding security. Not limited to but including; incident injury reports communication requirements statistical reports and data.
  • Ensures FDIHB Security Department complies with the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Standards (CMS) federal and tribal regulations and /or laws. Assists in the review maintenance and compliance of policies and operating procedures. Updates staff and documents as needed.
  • Represents FDIHB in a professional manner when participating in meetings with internal and external partners. Provides technical assistance develops and/or implements programs training/and/or security measures.
  • Coordinates controls monitors personnel access to controlled areas. Ensuring individuals are authorized and credentialed to access designated areas.
  • Conducts regular walkthroughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
  • Provides assistance to hospital and housing staff when conflict incidences and disturbances arise. This includes pursuing and detaining violators pending local law enforcement arrival.
  • Responds to issues violations and or complaints by coordinating responses with Director of Security Services local law enforcement and other emergency entities. Including accompanying Navajo Nation Police Officers responding to complaints or reports of alleged disturbances and/or potential crimes.
  • Coordinates traffic during internal or external emergencies or disasters in actual or exercise situations. Enforces speed limits traffic vehicles and pedestrian laws and regulations on FDIHB Inc. properties.
  • Prepares and documents incident reports situations events and encounters with employees and guests. Such as complaints accidents witnesses violence unsafe conditions theft storage or notification of FDIHB or personal items damaged.
  • Maintains security equipment supplies and inventory for security posts and coordinates needs with Director of Security.
  • Plans organizes and manages the needs of assigned staff interviews recommends hires and trains Security staff.
  • Develops monitors and reviews performance evaluation and counsels employees regarding leave performance discipline and conduct. Addresses and provides corrective action where necessary and/ or performance improvement.
  • Assists with development and monitoring of department budget. Establishes and measures department performance against semiannual and annual strategic plans.
  • Manages and directs the development and implementation of processes to achieve department performance measures consistent with the FDIHB mission statement.
  • Provides guidance to committees departments and/or senior management as requested in securityrelated projects for FDIHB sponsored events onsite and offsite.
  • Develops and maintains preventative maintenance troubleshoots and updates card readers and surveillance camera system. Monitors various access control operates play back exports video surveillance reports malfunctions on card readers and surveillance devices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Three 3 years work experience as a Security officer in a Healthcare Facility or Criminal Justice environment including two 2 years of supervisory direct lead or OfficerinCharge (OIC) experience.

Education: Associates Degree in related field or an additional two 2 years of experience.

FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and in accordance with Navajo Nation law has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position and members of other federallyrecognized Indian tribes will be given secondary preference. Other candidates will be considered only after all candidates entitled to primary or secondary preference have been fully considered.
