The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Youth Program Assistant for our Center for New Americans location to assist in the delivery of our afterschool youth program. This position requires active engagement with participants ages 618. A background in and enthusiasm for working with children is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the delivery of programming at SNHU Center for New Americans Amiko Youth Program. This includes setting up classroom and gym spaces fostering positive interactions with youth program participants chaperoning field trips and organizing program materials and closets.
Assist with serving dinner and snacks to youth participants as needed.
Work closely with the Program Director to create educational activities for youth ages 618.
Create program and engagement materials such as posters flyers and bulletin boards.
Assist in daily operations of the Center for New Americans including administrative tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment in an undergraduate program at SNHU
Experience working with children in an afterschool or camp setting
Excellent communication skills and punctuality
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Completion of ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate (training provided as part of onboarding)
Ability to independently transport oneself to and from the program site
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in one of the following languages: Spanish French Arabic Pashto Dari Nepali or Swahili

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills qualifications experience and internal equity in addition to relevant business considerations.Part-Time
