Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Operations with expertise in underwriting to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting operations and strategy ensuring efficiency and accuracy in the underwriting process.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the underwriting operations team providing guidance and support to ensure the timely and accurate completion of underwriting tasks.
- Develop and implement efficient underwriting processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Oversee the underwriting strategy including risk assessment policy development and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize the underwriting process and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to assess underwriting performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in underwriting to continuously improve operations.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as finance business or economics.
- Proven experience in underwriting with a deep understanding of underwriting principles and best practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent analytical and decisionmaking abilities to effectively assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.
- Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in underwriting operations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
- Professional certifications in underwriting such as CPCU AU or ARM are a plus.
