Who are we looking for
GHD is now hiring for an Electrical Designer to work on Ontario Region projects and support projects in the Eastern Canada region. We are looking for an intermediate electrical Technologist with an affinity for delivering on the electrical components of roadways bridges transitways municipal and/or county arterial roads side streets multiuse pathways and parking facilities.
GHD is looking for a new intermediate Electrical Designer to join our Highway Road & Bridgesteam in Whitby ON.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Be part of electrical project team and support the electrical discipline in multidisciplinary projects.
- Perform lighting calculation software (Autolux & AGI 32)loading calculations short circuit calculations voltage drop calculations and Arc Flash Analysis calculations
- Lead traffic signal design lighting design & intelligent transportation system design
- Assist the Engineer with the preparation of contract documents and quantity takeoff
- Ensuring timely delivery of assigned tasks
- Carrying out quality checks and complying with internal procedures
- Assisting senior staff with technical tasks and the daytoday operation of the office
- Coordination and liaison with approving authorities utility companies and outside design team members
What you will bring to the team:
- 510 years experiencein the design and/or construction of highway electrical lighting Traffic Signals and ITS with an engineering consultant firm
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation environments
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word Excel Outlook)
- Prior experience working on municipal and/or MTO projects are highly desirable
- Knowledge of OPS OESC CSA IES TAC and OTM publications and standards
- Selfmotivated and quick learner
- Able to multitask in a fast pace environment
- Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- G class drivers license
