Equipment Hauler Class A CDL/DOT

Location: Carlsbad NM

Type:Full Time

General Information/Job Summary

The Equipment Hauler will transport heavy equipment (forklifts dozers blades and excavators) to and from locations in and around the right of ways and facilities in Wyoming.

Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Transport equipment or material to different locations of the jobsite using a variety of different trailers. (Floats lowboys).
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Maintaining paperwork is a must.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size weight route designations parking and break periods) as well as Saulsburys policies and procedures.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects accidents and violations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • Proven experience working a lowboy or rgn trailer.
  • Handson experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading. procedures.
  • Capable of driving for long hours 6070 hrs. weekly) most of the driving is performed locally.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic weather conditions etc..
  • Valid Class A CDL license.
  • Heavy haul experience is preferred.
  • Must meet all DOT requirements.

Safety Requirements

  • On a continual basis promotes an awareness of environmental health and safety policies
    to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all accompany
    policies.
  • Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of
    Transportation antidrug program.
  • Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
  • Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
  • Attends various training classes as assigned by management.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual and finger dexterity.
  • Eyehand coordination.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arms reach. (Far visual acuity)
  • Ability to see small details.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long period of time.
  • Ability to reach above the head while sitting or standing.
  • Ability to reach below knees while standing.
  • Ability to stoop or kneel.
  • Ability to work at heights.
