This summer internship offers the opportunity to work directly with the General Counsel at a Native Hawaiian Organizationowned business that serves customers across the fromcolleagues who voted their company as one of the best places to work in Hawaii!
The Legal Intern will gain valuable exposure to the inhouse legal function and contribute to Nakupunas mission by supporting a wide range of legal matters including human resources contracts procurement and compliance. Reporting directly to the General Counsel and collaborating with various departments the intern will assist with daily legal operations and participate in key projects such as conducting legal research supporting internal planning efforts and performing administrative tasks.

Under direct supervision the ideal candidate will work with General Counsel on a variety of matters including government contracting investigations litigation and compliance.
Skills & Qualifications: The ideal candidate demonstrates strong legal research writing and analytical skills. They possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities along with strong organizational and time management skills enabling them to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines. A detailoriented and proactive approach coupled with a willingness to learn and adapt is essential. The intern should be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel and Outlook. Strong interpersonal skills a professional demeanor and a solid work ethic are also important for success in this role.
Education: Must be currently enrolled in a J.D. program at an ABA accredited school.
Work Location: Must be able to work in Honolulu Hawaii.

The Nakupuna Companies use a marketbased compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors including but not limited to the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contractspecific affordability organizational requirements and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $28.00 to $30.00 (hourly USD). The hourly range displayed represents the typical hourly range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
