Hospitality Hourly Attendant

Job Summary:

The Hospitality Attendant at The Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark/Fremont is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized Dinning area kitchen and storage area. This individual contributor role is a parttime hourly position located in Fremont California. The Hospitality Attendant will report to the Assistant General Manager and work as part of a dynamic team to ensure a positive dining experience for all.

Compensation & Benefits:

The compensation for this position is $21 per hour with paychecks distributed biweekly. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark/Fremont also offers access to hotel discounts through Hilton.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain the buffet according to the hotels standards and specifications.
• Ensure all food items are stocked fresh and replenished throughout the service period.
• Arrange food in an aesthetically appealing manner and label items for guest convenience.
• Greet guests warmly and assist them with questions about the buffet offerings.
• Offer recommendations on food choices and accommodate any special dietary requests or allergies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the buffet area following all health and safety regulations. This may require cleaning walls shelves furniture and equipment throughout the kitchen and dining area during shift.
• Monitor food temperature and quality to meet health and safety regulations.
• Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with hotel policies local regulations and responsible service standards.
• Ensure guests have everything they need for an enjoyable dining experience.
• Monitor the buffet area respond to guest inquiries and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Check guests identification to verify legal drinking age when required.
• Ensure that alcohol is consumed responsibly and intervene if necessary to prevent overconsumption.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the buffet area remains clean and safe.
• Regularly sanitize buffet surfaces utensils and food stations.
• Follow proper food handling techniques including using gloves and utensils when handling food.
• Stock and replenish inventory and supplies (china glass and silver) as needed ensuring the availability of these items at all times.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed such as bussing tables doing dished cleaning workstations emptying trash sweeping mopping and quarterly cleaning the fryer
• Clean and stock the buffet throughout the night as necessary.
• Assist with closing procedures at the end of the shift including cleaning and resetting the buffet area for the next service

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Willingness to be a team player and contribute
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and safety standards is preferred.
• Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• CA food handlers certification.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds without assistance and stand for long periods.
• Flexible availability including nights weekends and holidays is required.
