Overview of the Role
Lead a dynamic manufacturing operation as Plant Superintendent for our premier building materials client. In this pivotal leadership role youll drive operational excellence champion safety initiatives and develop highperforming teams while overseeing all aspects of production in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to 150 hourly and 6 salaried employees in a union environment
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Manage production scheduling quality control and inventory optimization
- Develop and implement annual budgets and productivity improvement plans
- Foster crossfunctional collaboration with Engineering QA/QC and Maintenance
- Coach and mentor engineering team members to achieve operational excellence
- Manage performance reviews training programs and career development initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical Chemical Industrial or Ceramics) or Business Management with demonstrated technical proficiency
- 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing with supervisory/management roles
- Proven leadership abilities in a heavy industrial environment
- Experience with union relations and grievance processes
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes especially in glass production
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with productivity tools such as Lean and/or Six Sigma
- Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills
