Job Description
The primary role of the Superintendent Exploration is to support gold exploration programs at and near the Haile gold mine and in the eastern USA. Essential functions include:
- Support the Exploration Manager in the definition planning and implementation of exploration programs to extend the Life of Mine (LOM) and increase resource and reserve base.
- Oversee and contribute to geological work including core and RC chip logging assist with drill logistics sample collection geologic mapping geologic log review and reinterpretation QAQC tracking and reporting and other areas as needed
- Oversee and contribute to 3D digital geologic models and generate interpretive sections and plan maps
- Supervise and mentor a team of geologists and geotechnicians
- Develop drill targets through conceptual geological understanding and applied deposit knowledge including interpretation of lithological structural mineralogical geochemical and geophysical data sets
- Contribute to technical reports and reporting products for a variety of audiences
- Oversee and contribute to robust QA/QC protocols to ensure the quality and integrity of data.
- Assist the Exploration Manager in budget preparation and management as well as cost reviews for the Exploration department
- Contribute to new conceptual ideas relating to structural evolution and orebody genesis supporting research and development of new technologies.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement through contributing to the optimisation of systems processes and practices regularly reviewing and identifying new opportunities.
- Act in accordance with and promote Company values and best practices

Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Geology or closely related field required Masters degree preferred
- >10 years of precious amd/or base metal exploration experience
- Competence with industrystandard modelling and database software preferred (i.e. Leapfrog Vulcan ArcGIS acQuire)
- Demonstrated interpretive geological skills using lithological structural geochemical and geophysical data
- Experience with core logging and mapping
- Good understanding of mineralization models and geological processes
- Understanding of economic parameters of mining operations and exploration projects
- Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety community and environment
- Must be able to legally work in the USA
- Must possess a valid USA drivers license
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand sit demonstrate manual dexterity climb stairs and ladders talk hear and see.
- Be able to walk over rugged terrain up to 6 miles per day in hot & humid and/or cold weather with occasional rain & snow.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine setting which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways offroad and on an active mine site.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment including hart hat hearing protection safety glasses safety footwear and as needed respirator rubber steeltoe boots protective clothing gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
