Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Head of Sales & Reservations for a prestigious luxury safari lodge located in Hoedspruit. This key leadership role is responsible for managing and driving the lodge s sales strategy ensuring seamless reservations processes and maximising revenue across multiple market segments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced hospitality professional with a strong background in luxury travel reservations and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth across key markets
Identify new business opportunities and manage relationships with trade partners agents and clients
Represent the lodge at trade shows events and industry forums both locally and internationally
Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded
Collaborate with marketing to ensure consistent brand messaging and campaign alignment
Reservations Management
Oversee the full reservations function ensuring accuracy efficiency and exceptional guest service
Manage and train the reservations team to handle bookings professionally and in line with brand standards
Maintain strong working knowledge of property offerings availability and guest preferences
Ensure accurate input and maintenance of data in the reservations and property management systems
Work closely with operations and frontofhouse teams to ensure smooth guest handovers and experiences
Team Management & Development
Lead mentor and motivate the sales and reservations team to deliver high performance
Conduct performance evaluations and implement training and development programs
Establish and maintain efficient communication channels between sales marketing and operational departments
Foster a positive team environment focused on guest satisfaction and results
Reporting & Revenue Optimization
Generate and analyse regular sales and reservation reports for senior management
Monitor booking trends cancellation patterns and occupancy forecasts to inform pricing strategies
Recommend and implement rate strategies to optimize yield and occupancy
Maintain uptodate records of partner contracts rates and terms
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in a sales or reservations leadership role within the luxury travel or hospitality industry
Strong understanding of the safari and luxury travel market
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in reservations systems and CRM platforms
Ability to manage and motivate a highperforming team
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Willingness to travel when required
