Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team at a prestigious luxury game lodge based in Rivonia. The successful candidate will oversee daily and monthly accounting functions ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial systems and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Functions
Follow up on financial and operational emails
Supervise daily activities of Bookkeeper(s)
Oversee daily financial reporting: balances incoming payments transactional activities
Process daily cash book entries including debit orders
Conduct daily bank reconciliations
Post all general ledger journals including wages salaries commissions and general expenses
Monthly Functions
Prepare and consolidate monthly management accounts
Submit management accounts and age analysis to shareholders
Verify ledger inputs for VAT and export analysis
Prepare and submit VAT returns via eFiling
Manage VAT verifications when requested by SARS
Oversee creditor checks and reconciliations
Prepare and circulate cash flow projections and actual reports
Report on KPIs and monitor for deviations
Annual Functions
Prepare and maintain asset register including tax values
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
Prepare annual audit file
Submit biannual and annual EMP501 (PAYE Reconciliation)
Assist in annual budget preparation
Reconcile loan accounts and assist with draft AFS preparation
Human Resources & Compliance
Oversee submission of required HR documentation
Manage and submit biannual provisional tax returns
Arrange Tax Compliance Certificates
Ensure compliance and submission of COIDA returns and payments
Maintain insurance policies and ensure timely renewals
Ad Hoc Duties
Prepare credit applications for suppliers
Assist in preparing capital expenditure documentation
Support general administrative and financerelated tasks as required
Minimum Requirements
Matric/Grade 12
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
Proven experience in a fullfunction accounting role preferably in hospitality or related sector
Strong knowledge of VAT payroll and SARS processes
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
