Job Description
Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Roads) to join our clients team in Durban. This is an exciting opportunity to work on significant road construction and improvement projects enhancing infrastructure development within the region. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing road construction projects
- Ensure that project activities adhere to timelines budgets and specifications
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
- Collaborate with contractors clients and stakeholders to facilitate communication and address projectrelated issues
- Review construction drawings designs and quality control plans to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications
- Prepare daily reports and documentation related to project progress and compliance
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and technicians on site
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field (BTech BSc or BEng)
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in road construction projects
- Proven experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of South African road design standards and construction practices
- Familiarity with project management software and road design tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment
- Must be Professionally Registered (Pr Eng or Pr Technologist)
