Job Description
The Franklin Public Schools a prek12 district is seeking a skilled and experienced special education teacher to join the preschool team at the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC).The teacher will work in an integrated model of service delivery offering academic social emotional behavioral and physical support to children with and without disabilities. The teacher must have experience and training with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Establish inviting and engaging preschool classroom that addresses preschool learning standards and individual student needsProvide positive behavior supports and interventions for children with and without disabilitiesProvide academic physical social and emotional support and servicesWork collaboratively with early childhood team of teachers and therapistsCollect data to measure progress against IEP goals and objectivesParticipate fully in the special education process to initial evaluation IEP development and progress reporting Qualifications:DESE License in Moderate or Severe Disabilities covering the appropriate age degree in Special Education/Early Childhood Education or related field preferredExperience in early childhood educationKnowledge of special education processExperience working with young children with a wide range of disabilitiesAble to take initiative and work independently Knowledge of early childhood developmentABA training and experience is requiredFranklin Public Schools is committed to maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment in accordance with state and federal law including based on age race color religion national origin pregnancy pregnancyrelated status gender identity sexual orientation sexual harassment veteran status political affiliation genetic information and/or disability.
