Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Junior Cloud Engineer with a strong interest in AI and familiarity with the cloud to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in the cloud computing space with a particular focus on AWS and who is enthusiastic about AI technologies. As part of our team you will implement cloud architecture based on the IT strategic plan work with the Network Team to help with network and user application support and train staff on cuttingedge large language models (LLMs) and AI tools like OpenAI and Claude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud architecture implementation: Learn and implement AWS architectures in line with our IT strategic plan.

  • AI tool management: Oversee the implementation of and train staff on large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI and Claude ensuring alignment with business needs and enhancing organizational AI literacy. Identify and evaluate use cases for targeted AI solutions and own the deployment and lifecycle of such tools.

  • Network and cloud application management and support: Support IP networking and offtheshelf cloudbased applications

  • Application support: Use Python skills to support existing applications providing break/fix support and troubleshooting issues as needed. Be the technical interface with developer contractors for issues requiring higherorder developer skills.

  • Documentation and training: Create and maintain documentation for AWS and AI tool implementations as well as develop and deliver training sessions to staff.

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • Education: Batchelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or equivalent work experience.

  • AWS familiarity: Willingness to develop a deep understanding of AWS services and architecture. AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or completion of the certification within the first year is a requirement.

  • AI and LLM Familiarity: Interest or experience with large language models (LLMs) and AI technologies especially ChatGPT and Claude.

  • IP Network Familiarity: Basic understanding of IP networking addressing and ports.

  • Python proficiency: Basic knowledge of Python and coding practices with the ability to support and troubleshoot existing applications in a break/fix capacity. Familiarity with or ability to learn Jupiter.

  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written skills. Ability to communicate with staff and understand and help develop solutions which reflect their needs. Ability to train staff in new technologies and applications.

  • Problemsolving ability: Can demonstrate analytical skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS: Any handson experience with AWS services including basic understanding of cloud architecture and deployment practices. A candidate must have the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or commit to obtaining this certification within the first year.

  • Experience with AI/LLMs: Previous exposure to AI or machine learning models especially ChatGPT and Claude.

  • Technical Training Skills: Experience in training staff on technical topics

  • Experience with a Ticketing System: Experience using and managing tickets in s system like Jira or ZenDesk.

  • Agile: Knowledge of Agile or DevOps workflows is a plus.
