Description

Position Title: Student Employment Coordinator.
Department: Human Resources.
Classification: NonExempt.
FTE: 1.0.
Work Schedule: 40 hours to be worked per week; the standard 40hour work schedule is Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm; or flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors.
Hourly Rate: $21 $23.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist in the administering of the student employment program.
    • Assist in the preparing monthly reports updates and newsletters.
    • Work with campus partners to assist international students in obtaining employment eligibility and work authorizations.
    • Assist with collaborating with campus partners to develop and implement initiatives to improve the student employee experience engage and retain student employees and support expansion of the student employment program.
    • Identify and execute feedback opportunities for students supervisors and community partners. Utilize information to suggest improvements and adjustments as necessary.
    • Assist with training and professional development for supervisors.
    • Assist with developing and facilitating supervisor training workshops and informational sessions.
    • Assist with coordinating and executing student employment events (Student Employment Fair mass I9 intake student work appreciation week etc..
    • Assistant with employment eligibility and compliance administration.
    • Assist in the creation of presentations for International and New Student Orientation.
  • Daily administrative duties.
    • Assist with managing and maintaining student employment operations within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
      • Assist with training supervisors and students on new processes and procedures.
      • Assist with overseeing response methods for expected student/supervisor communication influx (concerns grievances inquiries and requests).
    • Assist with enhancing the student employment website guide and/or provide other educational resources for supervisors and students.
    • Assistant with administering and maintaining student employment reports within multiple systems.
    • Assistant with monitoring and managing student employment data and reports. Track update audit investigate and correct student records.
    • Assist with ensuring compliance for student employment and eligibility.
      • Assign with communicating effectively to ensure a timely resolution to all student employment inquiries (new hire paperwork work awards time entry employment verifications work authorizations hiring process budget reports etc).
    • Assist with maintaining and updating student employment webspaces.
    • Assist with maintaining and updating student employment handbooks for students and supervisors annually.
  • Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
  • Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
  • Perform other Human Resources duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Reports to the Student Employment Administrator.
  • This position does not supervise staff or student workers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience within a studentfacing role in higher education.
  • Experience: Experience in a role that requires strong customer service and listening skills excellent organizational and time management skills accurate data entry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in higher education administration student affairs education human resources or research.
  • Experience: 6 months of experience in human resources financial aid or student employment programming; familiarity with student employment programs financial aid and federal work study requirements; 6 months experience working in a liberal arts environment.

Prerequisites:

  • Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks reference checks verification of work history verification of any required academic credentials licenses and/or certifications a motor vehicle check verification of DOT certification a credit check employment eligibility verification and/or a preemployment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College. Please note St. Olaf College reserves the right to conduct periodic background checks at its sole discretion.
