School Year
The OneonOne Assistant is assigned to provide support for a child who requires assistance throughout the day. The OneonOne assistant is a noncertificated staff member who assists students under the direction of the classroom teachers and/or certified staff to promote the students academic achievement behavioral growth socioemotional relationships and personal development. The OneonOne Assistant must adapt to the particular educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certification as well as the physical and mental capacity to perform the major responsibilities of the job assignment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Able to communicate effectively with students and staff
Physical Requirements
The employee must demonstrate physical strength agility and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health welfare and safety of all students and of self. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: sitting standing reaching walking lifting bending crouching kneeling climbing pushing pulling finger dexterity carrying repetitive motions speaking listening and visual acuity. The employee must lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
